The Sky’s the Limit with Vertical Carved Concrete

Harder, Thicker, Longer … Concrete Countertops

Trainers: Jake Brady of Jake Brady Concrete by Design

This hands-on workshop will provide both beginners and veteran concrete contractors with the opportunity to learn instructor Jake Brady’s innovative way to make GFRC countertops. Jake has been in the GFRC industry for 13 years and is known for his massive seamless pieces of concrete for everything from countertops and water features to deco-facades and so much more. This workshop will focus on a “pour once” method starting with mold making, pouring, demolding, back-grinding, polishing and sealing. Advanced discussion topics will include seamless large pieces, mix designs, inlays and custom mold making.

Boost Profits with Engraving and Stencils

There are unlimited ways to decorate concrete surfaces. One of the easiest is engraving the concrete. In this workshop you’ll learn multiple ways to not only use engraving to your advantage, but also methods to incorporate stencils for added details. You’ll learn how to merge these techniques and also use them as stand-alones. Adding design to your processes will add the best profits to any project and distinguish you from your competition.

Creating a Faux Bois Sculpture for Indoor or Outdoor Use

If creating concrete art for public and private commissions is your dream in life, Cindee Lundin will show you an exciting path for making your dreams a reality in this three-day workshop on faux bois (an artist imitation of wood or wood grain) and carved stone concrete sculpture. Creating a stable armature, deciding on concrete mix designs, sculpting, creating textures, coloring and business training will weave its way through this exciting workshop for the concrete enthusiast, landscaper and decorative artist. This is a beginner to advanced workshop for those interested in creating unique sculptures appropriate for the garden or to dress up a retail space. Besides learning about sculpting techniques, participants will discover new skills they can use on day-to-day projects as well.

Carpentry for Concrete Forming

Trainers: Rich Robertson of T.B. Penick & Sons

Rich Robertson from award-winning T.B. Penick & Sons will lead this must-attend workshop that demonstrates best practices for framing and forming retaining walls, steps, stairs, radiuses, wall caps, flatwork applications and more. The workshop will also cover the use of laser guidance, forming materials, fasteners, reinforcements and coping along with the necessary tools to ensure a productive and safe work environment for all. Includes complimentary hard hat, safety vest and eyewear.
